Lake Butler Rotary Club’s Interact Club to Assist Wreaths Across Amercia

On Saturday, December 16, 2017, at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, located at 4083 Lannie Road, one of a total of 9,200 wreaths honoring our U.S. veterans will be placed at each headstone.

Our Lake Butler Rotary sponsored Interact Club will be arriving at 10:00am that  Saturday morning to help place the wreaths. The actual Wreaths Across America Day 2017 Program begins at 11:45 a.m. and at 12 noon there will be a nationwide coordinated minute of silence honoring our deceased veterans.

The Lake Butler Interact Club recently collected nine bags of items for our veterans at the Veterans Hospital and is in the process of locating a wounded, war-related veteran from Union County that they can assist in some way.

As the Lake Butler Rotary Club president, and on behalf of all our Rotarians, I thank Nancy Griffis, staff advisor and all of the Lake Butler Interact Club members for their service to our community, our veterans and internationally.

Ted Barber, Lake Butler Rotary Club President
