Something new for the 2019 4th of July Celebration. The Mayor of the City of Lake Butler will doing a Mayor’s Art Fair. Entries into the Mayor’s Art Fair can be in any medium of art, and only one work per artist may be entered in the competition. Residents from Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Columbia and Union Counties are eligible to participate in this event. An entry fee of $5.00 must be submitted along with entry form. Completed forms and payment must be returned to the City of Lake Butler City Hall by 5:00pm on June 14, 2019. The entries will need to be delivered to the Mayor’s Art Tent at the 2019 4th of July Celebration at Lakeside Park before 10:00am on July 4, 2019. The art work/entries will remain on display in the tent until 2:00pm that afternoon, and must be reclaimed by 2:30pm.
The artist whose entry places First in the competition will be awarded $500.00 and the art work becomes the property of the City of Lake Butler and will be hung, or placed, in the Commission Chambers at City Hall with a plaque depicting the award and the year as well as the artist. The Second Place winner will be awarded $200.00, and the Third Place winner will receive $100.00. In addition, certificates of recognition will be presented to the top three winners.
