Lake Butler Rotary Club, Meeting Review for Tuesday, October 5, 2021

By Tyler Kelley

After an enjoyable meal shared by 12 Lake Butler rotarians, along with several guests, Secretary Tyler Kelley opened our meeting. Our prayer for the food was given by Mike Ripplinger, the Pledge was led by Rebekah Elixson, and Ted Barber led the club in a song.

The trivia question this week was “In 1947, President Harry Truman delivers the first ever televised presidential address. What was it about?” The correct answer was asking Americans to cut back on their use of grain in order to help starving Europeans.

Today’s guests were Will Rivers, Who is originally from Lake Butler, and came for the centennial, and Mike McInturff.

Before Shane Collins introduced his program, Secretary Tyler Kelley read a statement from Club President Brian Reagan Thanking the club for their assistance with the Lake Butler Centennial fireworks show, and commending the work of the Fireworks Vendor, Pyro Shows.

Shane Collins introduced his program by introducing the Club to his new puppy, Boone. Boone is a 10-week-old German Shepherd. He talked about the different types of German Shepherds, as Boone was taken around the room to greet the Rotarians present.
