2022 Homecoming Parade Participation Requirements and Guidelines
Theme: “The Happiest Place on Earth”

 

Parade Date:  Friday, October 7, 2022: Parade will line up, start, and end at Sprinkle Field

Parade Lineup begins at: 10:00 a.m.
Parade Begins: 12:00 p.m.

 

PARTICIPANTS:  All participants are required to properly collect & remove ALL garbage and trash from their assigned area at Sprinkle Field. 

ONLY THE FLOAT, TRUCK PULLING THE FLOAT, OR CARS ENTERED INTO THE PARADE MAY ENTER SPRINKLE FIELD. CARS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO ENTER TO DROP OFF STUDENTS OR PARTICIPANTS. 

FLOATS: All floats must be safely designed and constructed.  All riders on the floats should remain seated, and no one should be sitting on the edge of the trailer.  All body parts must remain within the confines of the float at all times.  All middle school and elementary school floats must have a minimum of two (2) adults walking beside the float and have a minimum of two (2) adults riding on the float with the participants.  

ALL FLOATS may not exceed 11 feet in total height, from the ground to the top of the float due to restrictive locations along the parade route.

CLASS FLOATS MUST HAVE HANDRAILS FOR SUPPORT AND ALL STUDENTS ON FLOAT MUST BE INSIDE THE HANDRAILS ON THE FLOAT, AT ALL TIMES.

FLOATS MAY NOT BE DISASSEMBLED OR OTHERWISE TAKEN APART AT SPRINKLE FIELD!

TRAILERS:  Only trailers may be used as platforms for floats. Trailers are required to have solid floors and must be securely attached to the motorized vehicle pulling it.

 

Pick-up Trucks: Pick-up trucks are allowed in the parade, however, riders are not allowed to sit on the side of the truck.
The driver of the truck must have the following in order to drive in the parade:

  1. a photocopy of the driver’s valid driver’s license
  2. proof of current insurance coverage which will include the name of the insurance company and the insurance policy number listed on the parade entry form (please provide a photocopy of this information)
  3. current vehicle registration
  4. the driver must be at least 21 years old and not a student

CARS: Cars/automobiles must be operated by a non-student adult with the following:

  1. a photocopy of the driver’s valid driver’s license
  2. proof of current insurance coverage which will include the name of the insurance company and the insurance policy number listed on the parade entry form (please provide of photocopy of this information)
  3. current vehicle registration
  4. the driver must be at least 21 years old and not a student

Riders must be within the passenger compartment with the exception of convertibles and t-tops.

ALL other vehicles such as: three-wheelers, four-wheelers, motorcycles, mopeds, dune buggies, etc., must be operated by a non-student adult who is 21 years old or older with the following:

  1.  a photocopy of the driver’s valid driver’s license
  2.  proof of current insurance coverage which will include the name of the insurance company and the insurance policy number listed on the parade entry form (please provide of photocopy of this information)
  3.  current vehicle registration
  4.  the driver must be at least 21 years old and not a student

ANIMALS:  Animals are to be ridden only by the owner or by an immediate family member of the owner.  Children under 12 years old must have an adult riding on the animal with them.

CANDY:  Candy can’t be thrown from participants on the class floats, but if there are student walkers, they may distribute candy   Candy may be disbursed from a safe distance away from the float or   vehicles in the parade with the exception of candies on sticks including but not limited to: Dum-Dums, Tootsie- Pops, Blow-Pops, and any other lollipop style candy. These pose a safety hazard on the parade route while they are tossed or thrown from the floats and vehicles. Please remember that due to allergens, no candy thrown should have peanuts/nuts.

TRASH: IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF PARADE PARTICIPANTS TO PROPERLY CONTAIN AND REMOVE TRASH FROM SPRINKLE FIELD! Each parade entry will be provided with a trash bag. Please collect your trash and leave the trash bag at your designated float parking spot at the conclusion of the parade. Student Council will collect these bags.
