For the 2019-2020 school year, Lake Butler Elementary School will be hosting online teacher requests for one day only! The online requests will be on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 9:30am – 5:00pm. There will absolutely be no teacher requests accepted before or after Wednesday, May 29th!
For those that do not have internet access at home, there are two options available to you. First, the Union County Public Library will be open at 9:00am and they have computers available for public use. However, please note that you must have a valid photo ID to use the computers at the library. Second, for those parents/guardians that may need access or assistance with the online teacher requests, Lake Butler Elementary School will also have computers available in the front office for the purpose of requests.
As a reminder, in order to make the teacher requests, you must have all student documentation complete, including updated shot records and proof of Union County residency. Proof of Union County residency should be in the form of a utility bill or rental agreement. The school will also confirm the address through Union County Map for residency verification.
The link for online teacher requests will be: www.union.k12.fl.us/request
The link will go live at precisely 9:30am on May 29th. All responses are recorded in a time-stamp order which eliminates the need for parents to stand in line. Once you click the link, parents/guardians will be prompted to enter their personal information and then that of their child(ren). If you have multiple children in Lake Butler Elementary School, you will simply enter your selections for them on the corresponding page.
Block Scheduling will apply to students in grades two through four. Once a class reaches their maximum allowed, it will close and no longer be available. Please keep in mind that parents will be able to select only one teacher, not all of their child’s teachers.
Making this process easier for parents and guardians is of the utmost importance to the Union County School District. If at any time you need clarification or have questions regarding this process, please contact (352) 448-5302. (Please note, NO requests will be accepted over the phone.)
Please be advised that teacher assignment is subject to change without notice.
