At a recent school board meeting, the Union County Sheriff’s Office received a very distinguished award from the U.C. School District. UCSO was named the “Business Partner of the Year” Award. This award from the Union County District Schools as approved by the Florida Department of Education and presented by Superintendent Carlton Faulk for the outstanding efforts of the fine men and women of the Union County Sheriff’s Office in support of our schools.

The award stated, “Thank you for the many contributions to the Union County School District. Your commitment and passion for education have helped build strong foundations that will last throughout the lives of our students. You can be certain that your work has greatly improved many lives.”

Union County Sheriff’s Office was 1 of only 5 law enforcement agencies in the State of Florida to receive this award. On hand to accept the award on behalf of the Sheriff’s Office was Sheriff Brad Whitehead and Captain Lyn Williams. The school board members pointed out that both can be seen each day volunteering their time before work at our schools. The school board listed two pages of many other accomplishments and partnerships between the two agencies.
