Chicken casserole, fried chicken, lima beans, carrots and peas, tossed salad and banana pudding for dessert was on the menu. Following a great luncheon meal and fellowship. President-Elect Garret Milton opened the Lake Butler Rotary Club meeting.

The “Did You Know?” question asked what Disney movie featured a boy and a dragon in 1977? The answer was Pete’s Dragon. The boy was a troubled 10-year-old orphan and Pete was his secret fire breathing clumsy friend.

As a “Community Update” Dale Walker stated the Community Center was now open. The City Manager, Jack Schenck said the concrete was being poured for the footers and foundation of the new McDonald’s Restaurant that plans to be open for business by January 22, 2021. Also, he stated the water meters were being replaced.  Brian Reagan mentioned that Ronnie Keller helped the Church of Christ celebrate their homecoming and that he enjoyed hosting the Friday morning 6:00 am to 7:00 am Promise Keeper Breakfasts. He also mentioned that the Church of Christ was back at about 85% attendance following the shutdown for corona virus. Alexandra Pritchett stated that her family members were no longer quarantined and that Margaret Pritchett was better. Garrett Milton mentioned that his Funeral Home was making plans to establish a crematorium in Worthington Springs where natural gas was available. He said the new high speed internet connection was working well and that the new Veterans policy re unclaimed Veteran’s remains are being accepted in the Federal Cemeteries. Ted Barber reminded the Rotarians that all military veterans, their families and friends were being honored on the UCHS Football field Wednesday, November 11, 2020 starting at 9:00 AM.
