On February 24, 2020, the City of Lake Butler was presented with the 2019 Distinguished Budget Award, presented by the Government Finance Officers Association. This award is a significant achievement for the City of Lake Butler as its budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide, as well as a communications device.
