New Flood Forecast Stations Help Notify Local Residents Of Potential Harm

The risk of flash flooding is significantly increased when the groundwater levels in our area are high. Monitoring of the local water level conditions is handled by flood forecast stations along the Santa Fe River.

The number of flood forecast stations along the Santa Fe River were increased by three new ones this year, installed by the Southeast River Forecast Center (SERFC). The new stations are shown circled in the map below.

Interactive maps are available to both residents and emergency management personnel so they can monitor potential flooding at numerous locations along the Santa Fe River. The staff at the Suwannee River Water Management District upload SERFC data to their River and Lake Levels page on the districts website (link below).
