The Florida Department of Transportation is set to begin the resurfacing of SR 100 from the Union County Line to US 301 in Starke on Monday, August 19, 2019, pending weather conditions.
The contractor, Preferred Material, Inc will be doing the project which will include milling and paving along with shoulder work and drainage improvements.
Delays with lane clousres can be expected during the project, which is slated to be completed by Summer of 2020. Motorists can expect to see some lane closures throughout the duration of the project, as well as see daytime and nighttime work. To accommodate for heavier traffic periods, there will be NO lane closures allowed on Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:00am and 8:30am or between 4:30pm and 6:00pm.
Anyone that travels SR 100 from Lake Butler to Starke is well aware of the need for the resurfacing of this road. If you commute this route you may want to adjust your time or seek an alternate route during the construction period.
